All Kings is Mostly Rapscallions

A Backwater: Southern-Gothic Horror Tabletop adventure

Mr. Hamilton King, a local executive for the Providence Trading Company, claims that someone has been following him. He is unsure who is following him or why, supposing it to be envy for his riches or perhaps a jealous old flame from his youth. He has been begging his good friend, City Councillor Rose, to connect him with a group of wardens who can help solve this mystery. The Councillor has refused until recently, after the events escalated and Mr. King is attacked. 

Cllr. Rose has requested that you present yourselves at your earliest convenience to Mr. Hamilton King, indicating that you should deliver a letter of introduction to Mr. King’s doorman as proof of your identity. In a note attached to the letter, Cllr. Rose explains that there has recently been an attempt on Mr. Hamilton King’s life and that he would like you to look into it.

The Basics

The purpose of this adventure is to introduce characters to Mr. Hamilton King, who runs the New Orleans branch of the Providence Company. If they succeed in their mission, Mr. King will hire them for work in St. Louis. He makes them a generous offer. This story focuses on investigation-style gameplay with some exploration and combat. GMs can use this module to move a New Orleans campaign to St. Louis. 

This adventure is suitable for the following

• 3-5 Low-level Wardens
• 6-9 Hours (2-3 Sessions)
• Easy or Average Difficulty Level

The adventure is 27 pages in length and can be played with the Backwater Quickstart. It also includes a map pack and 5 virtual tabletop tokens.

This adventure can be used to connect a Backwater campaign with the Backroads setting.
